Our group stayed at the Leaning Tree Lodge during New Years weekend! The owner had great communication and the house was very clean upon arrival. It was very spacious and all 4 couples had plenty of space to relax and enjoy the vacation! The 3 king beds (& 1 queen & bunk bed) were very comfortable + we loved the hot tub and foosball table! The kitchen had all the essentials to make meals and there were plenty of towels. I would recommend bringing shampoo/conditioner since only hand soap was provided. The location was perfect! So close to Deadwood and other attractions! We luckily had great weather, but this cabin is way easier to access then others we have stayed at in the past. Highlight was seeing deer in the backyard while hot tubing! We will definitely be back!

The Leaning Tree was a beautiful cabin and was exactly as described and pictured. It had a well-stocked kitchen and was clean and comfortable. I would say it can accommodate 3 couples and 4 kids with space to spread out, though we only traveled with 4 adults and 2 kids this time around. The deck and private hot tub were comfortable, and the resort pool was a short (but steep) walk uphill. A couple of things we think other travelers might like to know before they go: There are no TVs in the bedrooms (as of 8/21/21) and no dressers to put your clothes in. These are not pictured or listed in the description so it was no fault of the host; it was just something that surprised us becausewe didn't notice it missing from the description. Also, the parking area is on a hill and not very wide. We had a very pleasant stay and will definitely consider staying in this cabin again.

We had a wonderful time staying in this house making memories. The beds were so comfortable after our travel and our adventures around the different cities. There was plenty of seating for dinner, and the beautiful back porch made a great place to hideaway and read a book. The house is well stocked in good quality dishes, pots, pans and utensils. There were enough plates/bowls for everyone at a meal. The house was very roomy and the 8 of us never felt like we were on top of each other. Its a great location to be able to visit a lot of popular places in the Black Hills National Forest.

Please keep in mind that the property is harder to find at night in pitch black & unpaved road. A little confusing street signs at first arrival. YOU SHOULD BE on Gilded Mountain ROAD and NOT LOOP. Great location to all thinks Black Hills. The Leaning Tree Lodge was clean and had the perfect cabin in the woods feel with all updated amenities and lots of room. The hot tub on the back patio was not only private from the neighbors but had a beautiful view of the rolling hills and trees. It was easy to find and just outside of the town of Lead and Deadwood. The clubhouse is also a nice feature with a heated pool that appears to be open year round. If you are headed to the Black Hills check this place out. It was perfect!

Very beautiful cabin and easy to find. We were a bit confused about getting in to the cabin when we arrived as the instructions tell you to use the code, which we thought the code was for the key pad on the door, and not the key pad on the cabin. We tried to access the Club house with the code that was provided and we were not able to get in.....wasn't sure if there were particular hours that the club house was available.

The cabin was beautiful and clean. The accommodations were great! It had all of the amenities that we needed, including the gas grill. We did a lot of sight seeing during the day, and coming back to the hot tub in the evening was just what we needed. The views, and the peacefulness of the are were awesome. We would definitely recommend this area to others, and we also hope to stay here again.
