Love it! Cozy, and the location is beautiful! We also loved the propane fire pit. We loved that it was old school, with no TV etc. but yet newly remodeled. We were surprised on how much room we had, it appeared it would be smaller in pics, but we had plenty of room! We will be back for sure.

This place was very clean, cute, and cozy! We did have some issues getting a cab, and the cabs were $30 each way to Deadwood and back, so that was not nearly as convenient as we had hoped. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay.

This is a cool little A-Frame out in the woods outside of Lead. I stayed with my girlfriend and it was perfect. The propane fire pit was a nice touch for the cool nights! Would def stay here again!

Perfect for a romantic getaway and close to all sorts of activities. We had great food in Deadwood, did some off-roading, enjoyed wine and charcuterie in the forts comfy lounge. Cooked a great breakfast in the cabin and overall enjoyed the heck out of this stay. I highly recommend this spot and we will forever cherish our 21st-anniversary memories at the Fort in near Deadwood SD.

The Fort was the perfect getaway for three people! We loved the location in the mountains and nearby historic Lead and Deadwood. It was the perfect location to drive to attractions like Mount Rushmore (about an hour and 15 minutes away). The space itself had everything we needed and the interior of the cabin was very intimate and cozy which worked well for our group with 4 or more people it would have been too small. The quality of the beds and bedding was excellent and allowed us to have a good nights rest after long days of exploring. The place was sparkling clean, which was really important for us, especially in the midst of coronavirus. The host was incredibly accommodating and responsive. They had a book of what to do in town, and a nice welcome gift. We lost power late one night and they replied right away and called the power company. The only things we were missing were hand soap, scissors and more instructions on where to find the the washer/dryer and how to operate the fire pit. We came in June and there was no AC so the place got a little hot at night. But overall, we would highly recommend The Fort. Everyone we met was friendly and kind; we instantly felt welcomed in South Dakota!

We really enjoyed our stay at The Fort. It was great tiny living practice for my husband and me. The house isnt as secluded as wed hopedits in a ski villagebut we were there in the off-season so still had privacy. Cute house!
