Deadwood

Deadwood

Come see the wildest town in the West! The town of Deadwood is brimming with history. Founded in 1876 during one of the great gold rushes in America, miners flocked to Deadwood in search of gold and the chance to strike it rich. Its most notable residents were Wild West legends like Wild Bill Hickok and Calamity Jane who are now buried in Mount Moriah Cemetery. The city of Deadwood became a National Historic Landmark in 1961 and today, Deadwood continues to grow and welcome travelers from all over the country to experience its unique history and outdoor spaces.
