Common Questions about our Vacation Rental Homes

How do I make a Reservation?
Our reservation line, 800-240-3735 or 605-716-1202 is available Monday-Friday 9:00am-4:00pm. However, we are often available in the evenings to return calls so you can always leave a message. In addition, you can make your reservation online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you do make a reservation online, you will be contacted within 48 hours by a vacation specialist to confirm and finalize your reservation.

What are your check-in and check-out times?
Your home will be available for Check-in at 4:00 p.m and check out time is 10:00 a.m. A vacation home requires more time to clean than a hotel room, so please help us prepare for our next guest by being on time and doing the check-out procedures.

What is your Cancelation Policy?
The initial 20% down payment is Non-refundable. A cancelation within 30 days of your arrival will result in a loss of all monies. All cancellations must be confirmed in writing. Travel Insurance is 7% of your rental and is highly recommended. You can find more details about the Travel Insurance and its benefits on our Travel Insurance tab under Guest Services.

What is included in the homes?
Linens and towels, kitchenware and supplies for everyday cooking, garbage bags and a STARTER SUPPLY of paper towels, and toilet paper, gas grills with propane.

How do we leave the home?
We ask that you dispose of all garbage in the proper receptacles – it must be bagged,  strip the sheets from the beds and leave in bedrooms, place dirty towels in the laundry area, clean dishes and unload dishwasher. It is not required, but very much appreciated if you can start a load of towels before you leave.  You are renting someone’s home and your should leave it the way you would want your own left. Excess cleaning, if needed, will be held from your security deposit.

Is Smoking Allowed?
Smoking is NEVER allowed inside any of our houses. Smoking is permitted outside. Guests are required to properly dispose of their smoking materials, and there is a fee if we need to clean up smoking material for guests.

Do you allow pets?
We do have some pet-friendly homes. Please make sure that you clean up after your pet in and around your home and dispose of the waste properly. Any and all damage caused and the resulting charges, i.e. carpet stains, wall damage, pet hair removal, etc will be the responsibility of the tenant.

Are 4 wheel drive vehicles required?
Many of our vacation homes can be accessed in the winter with just front-wheel drive, but we highly recommend 4-wheel drive, anytime you are in the Black Hills, during the winter months.

Will my GPS System work to get to the cabin?
GPS Systems DO NOT always work in the Black Hills.  There are many backroads, ATV trails and forest service roads that should not be used, that may show up on your GPS.  Please use the directions we provide you and call us if you have any questions.
