Lead, South Dakota

Southwest of Deadwood is Lead, a town with rich mining history and abundant outdoor activities. Lead’s name came from the leads of deposits of ore and is home to the Homestake Mine (now closed). Lead is now an outdoor paradise, offering some of the best trout fishing, skiing, and trails in the area.
