The vibrant reds, yellows, and oranges are a sight to see. Peak times for viewing autumn foliage in the Black Hills is the end of September to mid-October. Wind through 22 miles of the Spearfish Canyon Scenic Byway to view the fall foliage from the comfort of your own car. There are plenty of pull-offs on the byway for you to stop and marvel at the fall colors. If you’re itching to get out of the car, a hike to Bridal Veil Falls or Roughlock Falls for some quiet time out in nature is a must-do while in the Black Hills. Other popular attractions in and around the area are Mt. Rushmore, Custer State Park, and the Devils Tower.
